This is a special plan only available on the official website where you can participate in the morning service at Shippo-san Daifuku-in Mitsudera, beloved by locals as the "Kannon of Osaka Minami." Thanks to the kindness of the temple, you can experience this at no additional charge. ◇About the morning service experience◇ ・Meeting time: 7:15-7:30 *Please be punctual ・Meeting place: Mitsudera grounds ・Time required: 7:30-8:00 (approx. 30 minutes) *Please come to the designated location in the Mitsudera grounds (a map will be given to you at check-in) at the meeting time. If you are late, you will not be able to participate. *Temples are places of faith, so please behave sensibly. *The event may be canceled at short notice due to memorial services, etc. Thank you for your understanding. *This does not include writing in your goshuin book or copying sutras. If you wish, you can apply directly at the temple (for a fee). ◇What is Mitsudera?◇ Mitsudera is a Shingon Buddhist temple founded in 744 AD when Gyoki carved and enshrined an eleven-headed Kannon statue to pray for the soul of Emperor Ojin, at the command of Emperor Shomu. The current main hall was built in 1808 AD. It is a wooden building from the Edo period that was spared from the ravages of World War II, which is rare in Osaka city. As a result, the magnificent grandeur of Edo art remains, such as over 100 colorful floral designs painted on the ceiling of the hall, and pillars and sculptures decorated with lacquer, gold leaf and colored paintings, and this history is passed down to present-day Osaka.
